History
Story
I started my training as a classical pianist.
I spent hours exploring the repertoire and trying to find my own way in every single piece of music. I had several teachers in various countries – Bucharest, Romania; Moscow, Russia; Rome, Italy; and Toronto, Canada. This helped me learn several points of view in terms of technique and interpretation which, in turn, helped me customize my way of teaching for each individual according to their strengths and predispositions.
Later I took a job as an opera accompanist for a company in Toronto. I fell in love with opera right away and accompanying singers helped me further with the approach of interpreting piano pieces. The natural phrasing of the voice helped me construct the piano phrases in a different, more natural way.
I equally enjoy collaborating with other musicians as well as playing solo. My favourite genre is
performing concertos with orchestra as a soloist.
I am also passionate about literature and I find reading from a specific period of time ties in with the interpretation of the piece.
During my lessons, I always tell my students about the composers’ lives and the historical context in order to inspire them and encourage more research in that aspect.
As a teacher I am happy to see my students grow and achieve great results in competitions and exams, and most of all watch them grow as successful individuals regardless of the path they choose to take in their lives.
From the moment I wake up I make music, whether it is practicing, accompanying, or teaching piano.
I hope to inspire a love of classical music in all people, regardless of age.
